What is a Sanctuary Workplace?
Sanctuary workplaces are hate-free zones that intend to be safe spaces for our communities. They are spaces where worker-owners and employees are empowered knowing their workplace rights as workers and owners. Furthermore, this is a call to action to extend protection and safety to all communities facing harassment and persecution in the workplace, including all people of color, immigrants, Muslims, and people with disabilities.
Why should you endorse sanctuary workplaces?
Endorsing Sanctuary Workplaces supports the belief that when we defend and lift up a community under attack, we also lift up another community. We know that when one community is at risk, we are all at risk. Through hate-free zones, we promote dignity, collective advocacy, and solidarity within and throughout worker cooperatives.
